There are certainly a lot of nut bearing trees which you can add to your landscape, however, you should not plant a black walnut since it is the type of plant which produces toxins and may cause other plants in your landscape to die. However, if you would want an alternative for the black walnut, then you can use the butternut tree since it is also advisable to use for landscaping. If you happen to search for the perfect alternative for your black walnut tree, then you should definitely use the butternut tree since the two trees look exactly the same, however, the butternut tree does not produce toxins on its root system. The butternut tree is definitely a good choice for your landscape since it also bears a nut which is very delicious. In fact, there are now more disease resistant nuts which you can easily buy.
